Central Baptist Church is an independent church. We are in association
with The Empire State Fellowship and Tri- County Fellowship of Regular
Baptist Churches.
The Heartbeat of Central Baptist Church
A. We are a Bible-centered
ministry. We believe in the sufficiency and authority of the Holy
Scriptures. We approach Scripture from a normal, grammatical, literal,
historical, hermeneutic. We do not believe it needs to be redefined,
nor recontextualized, nor reinterpreted using dynamic equivalents
(we have more extensive information on this critical issue available
for the asking.)
B. We are a people-centered
ministry. Our programs and property exist to encourage believers.
It’s been said that there are two kinds of churches; those
that use the people to build the church versus those that use the
church to build the people. We are the latter and may it always
so remain.
C. We are mission-minded. This
starts with personal evangelism in our own Jerusalem and extends
to the uttermost parts of the earth. Currently 22% of our general
fund goes to missions plus thousands in special offerings each year.
Also 2% goes into our deacon’s fund which aids the needy within
and without the church family.
Our Purpose
Our objective and commitment is to a person, the Lord Jesus
Christ as found in the Holy Scriptures. He, who rightfully is our
Creator, God in the flesh, gave His life on the cross for our sins.
In His death and resurrection He shed His blood so that we who place
our faith and trust in Him may have freedom from sin’s dominion
and live a purposeful life. The salvation our Lord Jesus Christ
provides also gives us a confident knowledge that we shall live
eternally with Him.
“For we know that if our earthly
house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God,
a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens”
II Corinthians 5:1
This is the Good News we preach and the Christ we exalt. This
belief in Christ is not merely a belief in His existence but a belief
that comes by knowing Him personally. You must place your faith
and trust in His substitutionary work on your behalf for your salvation.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and thou shalt be saved” Acts 16:31
“He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18
